Four Kids and It with Russell Brand, Michael Caine, and Ashley Aufderheide Set For UK Release 4/20

Sky Television (UK) has boarded “Four Kids and It,” Andy De Emmony’s family adventure film starring Sir Michael Caine, Matthew Goode, Paula Patton, Russell Brand, and Ashley Aufderheide. The film, which is based on the 1902 bestselling book by Jacqueline Wilson, will be available on pay-channel Sky Cinema and in UK theaters day-and-date at Easter.
Set on the Cornish coast, “Four Kids and It” follows four children who embark on a journey to discover if a magical creature can really make all their wishes come true. It starts out with a family holiday to a Cornish cottage which takes an unexpected turn when the kids come across a magical and very grumpy creature (Caine) on a beach.
“’Four Kids and It’ is another example of our huge ambition for Sky original films. We are passionate about great storytelling and I know, with this fantastic cast, that our customers are definitely in for a treat this Easter,” said Sarah Wright, the director of Sky Cinema and acquisitions at Sky UK & Ireland.
The movie is an adaptation of Jacqueline Wilson’s children’s book, which in turn was inspired by E. Nesbit’s 1902 novel “Five Children and It.” It follows four kids who are horrified to learn that their beach vacation is in fact a bonding trip with their potential future step-siblings. The kids then accidentally stumble upon a Psammead, a magical, grumpy and sandy creature, in this case called It, who can grant them one wish a day.
Brand will play the oddball villain Tristan, who is bent on capturing It. Bill Nighy was previously cast in the role, but has been replaced by comedian and actor Brand, whose film credits include “Get Him to the Greek.” Patton, who was in “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol” will play workaholic American mum Alice.

In 2014, Infinitely Polar Bear premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and Ashley received critical acclaim for her role. Ashley’s role as Morgan Freeman’s granddaughter in Going in Style soon followed. Her television credits include guest star and recurring roles in AMC’s Preacher and The Slap on NBC.
Ashley began her career as a child model at age 3. She appeared in ads for Ralph Lauren, GAP, Juicy Couture shot by Steven Meisel, Saks, and a host of other top name brands.
Ashley enjoys skiing, dance, sailing, and travel.
